| SUZ Graphics was hatched
in Upstate New York in 1989 - the company, not the owner. The owner was
born a few years before that, attended the College of Saint Rose in Albany,
New York and acquired a BS degree in Advertising and Graphic Design. Yes,
she has a BS degree, and she can BS with the best of them.
Anyway,
Suzanne, AKA Suz, got right out there and used her college degree - landing
a job with a temp agency that placed her in an engineering office - working
as an office clerk. We all have to start somewhere but after four
years of college, that bottom rung seemed pretty darn low. (No offense
intended.) But within a year, and with no computer training at all, Suz
taught herself how to use a Mac (then known as an Apple) and a PC (then
known as a Compaq), and an operating system called DOS. At that time, Windows
were still for fresh air. She also taught herself Quark and AutoCAD and
was off and running in the world of computers, graphics, design and drafting.
That’s when SUZ Graphics came into
being. She contracted her services with the aforementioned engineering
office for another four years, this time with the title of Graphic Designer
and Draftsman. SUZ Graphics also had a home office where logos, letterheads,
business cards, corporate identities and brochures were produced. After
working five years as a contractor, Suz then worked as an employee for
a full-service printing and graphics agency and achieved a solid foothold
on the workings of the print industry ... everything from creating business
cards and brochures, laying-out and designing full-color regional magazines,
to producing full-page glossies for national magazines.
SUZ Graphics then moved to the Treasure
Coast (the eastern coast of southern Florida) and reestablished itself.
Today the company is primarily involved in the design and sales of T-shirts
with quotes that sometimes have a ‘deeper’ meaning, sometimes have double
meanings, and occasionally are just plain funny.
Suz, the fastidious (just ask her
web designer) and versatile owner of SUZ Graphics is currently very involved
in the business and does a good deal of the work herself. In
other words, she’s a one-woman business with a dog for a CSA (Customer
Service Associate). You could say it’s a family business. And although
we don’t run with the BIG dogs yet, we can hear ‘em baying in the distance.
For fun, Suz takes her CSA to the
beach and laughs at her while she bites and barks at the waves, as though
she’ll somehow bully those waves right off that beach. It doesn’t work,
of course, but you can’t blame the poor dog for trying. Though, it does
sound eerily familiar to the definition of insanity. Hmmm....
I digress. We’re glad you stopped
in and hope you had a pleasant experience. Take one of our shirts for a
test drive. Geez, take ‘em all out for a drive! They’re very good quality,
pigment dyed T-shirts, well worth the price, and they make wonderful gifts.
By
the way, since we LOVE variety, check back every month or so, as we will
be adding new quotes and retiring others. If there is a quote you’d really
like to have, it’s wise to order it soon to avoid disappointment when it
goes into retirement. After all, we are located in Florida, and
everything around here retires early! Suz
